What this is

Remote US accounts often stall on one thing. You have no street address that can take mail. A private mailbox such as Anytime Mailbox rents a US address with a box number. USPS then wants Form 1583 and a video notary. After that you can talk about ITIN, bank accounts, cards, or parcel forwarding.

This guide follows a full 1583 run. Materials, how to pick a site, signup, form check, ID photos, the video script, and the wait. Prices, stock, notary hours, and review time move. Anytime Mailbox and your live account win.

Before you start

What people use this for

  1. ITIN or US card applications that need a US mail drop, then use that mail as address proof.
  2. Shopping and forwarding parcels to the box.
  3. Some company or business-account files that ask for a US street (the other side still decides).

It solves intake of mail and the USPS file. It is not a visa or a green card. Whether a bank likes the rented address is their risk desk.

Documents

| Item | Notes | |------|------| | Pay | A Visa or Mastercard that can charge USD (dual-currency cards from China often work) | | Primary ID | Passport | | Secondary ID | National ID plus an English translation (a stamped translation from a qualified shop is the usual path) | | Same address | The English residence on the translation must match the Home Address you type into Anytime, including ZIP | | Device | Laptop or desktop with camera and mic for the 1583 video | | Print | Print the ID translation and photograph it next to the physical ID |

Decide the English address spelling first, then send that string to the translator so it does not drift from the form.

Time and money

  • Monthly rent varies by site. Public notes start around $2.99 a month. Some points cost more. Annual plans often beat month-to-month. Checkout is the price.
  • The notary step may pre-authorize a fee and charge after the session finishes.
  • Site review copy often says 2 to 3 business days. Real waits can run longer.

Steps

1. Decide what kind of address you need

Anytime has sites worldwide. Only US addresses usually need 1583.

If the goal is a US credit card, many banks dislike commercial mail drops. Aim for Residential and watch the CMRA flag.

| Signal | Working read (not a bank ruling) | |------|------| | USPS / lookup CMRA = Y | Commercial mail agent. Skip for most card apps | | CMRA = N | Better, still check Residential | | Lookup says Residential | Closer to a home. Easier story for a card app | | Lookup says Commercial | Banks and account desks reject this more often | | You invent a Unit or Suite | Can make a residential point look commercial |

Forwarding shoppers may care about West Coast or no-sales-tax states. Card apps should rank Residential, check deposit if you need it, then price. The only hard test is the bank’s own form.

2. Find a site yourself, or filter first

Path A. Search Anytime yourself

  1. Open the Anytime Mailbox location list.
  2. Filter state, city, rent, parcels, checks.
  3. Cross-check CMRA and Residential on USPS or an address lookup.
  4. Order only after that.

This is the most flexible path. It is also slow when many states are in play.

Path B. Narrow first with the Carddoger US address tool

The site has a US Non-CMRA address list.

Open the US Non-CMRA address tool

A clean pass looks like this.

  1. Open the tool. Search or filter by state.
  2. Check the provider is Anytime Mailbox and the rent is in budget.
  3. Copy the address or use Visit and finish the rental on Anytime.
  4. Recheck CMRA and Residential on USPS or a lookup. The tool is a filter, not a bank approval.

The full list is usually members-only. Guests can try the first row. Counts and prices follow the live tool (public notes sit in the hundreds of rows, many states).

How to combine the two

  • Short on time and you know the state. Pull 3 to 5 candidates in the tool, then confirm price and stock on Anytime.
  • You want the whole catalog. Browse Anytime, then use the tool when you get stuck on state or price.
  • Either way, the Anytime checkout and notary system are the contract.

3. Pick the site and pay

  1. Choose the address and term (month or year) on Anytime.
  2. Create the account. Email, phone, password.
  3. Name in pinyin if that is how your passport reads.
  4. Home Address is the English residence on your ID translation, character for character.
  5. Enter the card. The system may pre-authorize a notary-inclusive amount and capture it after the video.

4. Start 1583 and fill notary fields

After the terms, the product walks you through 1583.

| Field | What to enter | |------|------| | Primary ID | Passport number and expiry | | Secondary ID | Follow the on-screen type. The upload is still national ID plus translation | | Forwarding Address | Often defaults to the ID address. Change it to a place that can take an international parcel now |

Why change forwarding on day one. If you leave the ID address, mail goes there. Adding a new mainland delivery address later often means another 1583 video and another fee. Set it once.

5. Preview the 1583 PDF

Check the first page against the generated form.

  • Date
  • Rented US address and box number
  • Name (Last / First)
  • ID residence and contact (same as the translation)
  • Real forwarding address
  • Passport
  • Secondary ID (translated national ID)

Only continue when that matches.

6. Photograph the IDs

The site often shows a QR code. Upload from a phone browser.

Passport

  • Country China, type Passport.
  • It may want the photo page and the signature page. Newer Chinese passports put both on one page. Follow the prompt. You may photograph the same page twice.

National ID plus translation

  1. Lay the printed English translation flat.
  2. Put the physical ID beside it. Do not cover the translation text.
  3. Shoot both in one frame and upload that photo.

7. Video notary (about 3 to 5 minutes)

Back on the computer, allow camera and mic. Pass the device test. Service is often close to 24/7. Busy hours mean a wait.

The notary checks identity and consent. Talk is usually English. Common lines from one recorded run (the live session wins)

| They may say | You can say | |------|------| | Can you hear me well? | Yes. | | Please tell me your full name. | Your pinyin full name | | Are you the same person listed in the document? | Yes. | | Is the address listed in this document your current address? | Yes. | | Are you participating today freely and willingly? | Yes. | | Do you understand the contents of the document you are signing? | Yes. | | Do you agree to use an electronic signature? | Yes. | | Are you renting this address for personal or business use? | Personal use. if that is true | | Please sign in Box 13A. | Pick an e-sign style in box 13A |

Download the stamped 1583 PDF when it ends.

Two field notes from our own video

  1. Notaries disagree on translated national IDs. Some accept the packet. Some stop. Leave and try again later. A different notary may pass the same files. There is no hard cap on attempts. A single no does not kill the packet.
  2. Weak spoken English can still pass. Ask them to type in the chat. Read it in a translator. Type the reply. The first Carddoger pass used typed chat plus machine translation, which was calmer than forcing speech.

8. Wait for site review

  1. The location reviews the file. 2 to 3 business days is common. Longer happens.
  2. After approval the address is live. Forwarding should show the mainland address you set.
  3. A fail can block that site. Follow support, or change location.
  4. Day to day, open or forward mail from the app or email alerts. Extra fees follow the account page.

9. Checklist

  1. Translation English address equals system Home Address, letter for letter.
  2. For a card app, CMRA and Residential were checked twice.
  3. Forwarding is a place that can take international mail now.
  4. Passport is clear. National ID and translation sit in one frame.
  5. Quiet room, enough light, IDs in reach.
  6. Notary PDF saved.

Carddoger take

The job is to pick a residential-leaning site and finish 1583 once. The usual document fail is a translation that does not match Home Address. The usual extra fee is a wrong forwarding address, then a second notary when you add a real one.

You can search Anytime yourself. If you want less time in the catalog, open the US Non-CMRA address tool, cut the list by state and price, then check out on Anytime. The tool shortens the list. Banks and the site still decide.

Anytime checkout, the notary system, USPS, and the bank are the live rules. This is a process note, not legal or approval advice.
