Rakuten is stacking up to about $100 cash or 10,000 Bilt on two Chase Unlimited cards

What happened

Rakuten's credit-card channel is again stacking an apply rebate on two Chase Unlimited cards. One is the personal Freedom Unlimited. The other is the business Ink Business Unlimited.

On the public page, Freedom Unlimited shows up to about $100 cash, or about 10,000 Bilt points. Ink Business Unlimited is the same, about $100 or about 10,000 Bilt. The Freedom Unlimited tier has just been lifted from a lower number. The page still shows a was $25 style compare.

Rakuten pays this rebate. It is not a Chase statement credit. Chase's own welcome bonus is still there. The two can stack if you meet both sides.

Get a Rakuten account first

Easy ways to miss it

Rakuten can pay cash, Bilt, or Amex MR. If the account is already set to earn Membership Rewards, this apply rebate will not pay. Switch back to cash or Bilt, then tap apply.

With a Bilt membership, the usual rate is 1 cent per point. Without membership it is about 2 cents per point. In that second case, cash is often the better pick. The email needs to match Bilt. Bind page https://www.biltrewards.com/rewards/rakuten

The Freedom Unlimited up to line has a catch. Terms say people with no current Chase credit card and no Chase personal bank or checking account may, at some times, get a higher rebate. Chase decides whether you count as a customer. Existing Chase customers may not get the top $100 on the page.

Ink Unlimited adds one more rule. The account needs to stay open about 3 months after approval before Rakuten will pay. Closing early can wipe the rebate.

One Rakuten member account can take this kind of credit-card apply rebate once. Applying for both cards will not pay twice.

The page does not print an end date. A figure that rose from $25 to $100 can fall again. Refresh the channel before you apply.

A new card is a hard pull. 5/24, and whether a Chase business card hits a personal report, sit with your own card set and the bank's rules.

If someone at home already has Freedom

Another person in the household can apply for Freedom Unlimited on a Chase friend-and-family link. The referrer gets about 5,000 Ultimate Rewards. Against Rakuten's $100 or 10,000 Bilt, Rakuten usually wins. If the Rakuten figure drops, or Chase-customer status cuts it, look at the friend link again.

Ink-family referrals pay more. Public notes have shown about 40,000 in a single hit, but the referred person usually cannot have held a Chase Ink before. The Rakuten rebate does not have that bar.

The interesting part is the stack. Chase pays its welcome bonus. Rakuten pays a separate apply rebate. Freedom Unlimited's $200 bar is low. Ink Unlimited's welcome spend is high, but the Rakuten rebate does not require a clean Ink history.
