What happened
Monzo UK said it is changing the Plus membership price. From 6 November 2026, Plus moves from about £5 a month to about £6.
Monzo says the change is so it can keep giving early subscribers a steady, lasting service. Since Plus launched in 2020 it has added features. The public note lists automatic transaction export, a higher savings rate, better foreign-currency and spare-change related fees, plus virtual cards, open banking, custom spend categories, credit insights, and other budget tools.
What you can do
- Manage the membership on the Plus home inside the Monzo app.
- Move at any time to Extra, Perks, or Max. Public copy for those plans starts from about £3 a month. Trust the live app.
- Monzo warns that after you cancel or switch Plus, you cannot reopen the original Plus plan.
The default-accept date
If you do not reply by 14 October 2026, Monzo will treat the price change as accepted. Anyone still on Plus needs to decide before that date whether to stay, switch, or cancel.
Carddoger take
The change is simple. Plus goes from about £5 a month to about £6, live on 6 November 2026. The reply deadline is about 14 October 2026. After that, silence counts as yes.
People who stay pay about £1 more a month. People who will not renew should know that cancel or switch may lock you out of the old Plus. Check Extra, Perks, and Max prices and perks in the app before you move.
