One Amex Offer still sticks to one card. Multi-card adds are mostly dead

An Amex Offer usually pins to one card. Add it on card A and the same offer disappears from B and C. Community workarounds with extra tabs or auto-add apps used

The rule

US issuers all run merchant offers on cards. Amex Offers is the large one. Public US-cardholder lists often sit above two thousand targeted offers. The long-running friction is simple. One Amex Offer usually goes on one card. If several of your cards are targeted, adding it on A makes the same offer vanish on B and C.

What people used to try

Two common paths

  1. Several browser tabs. Open the same offer on each card and tap Add in a row.
  2. A bot or paid app such as Cardpointers, firing add requests at every targeted card before Amex marks the offer used. After a success, each card kept the offer and spend could trigger on each card.

Even then, auto-add tools often errored halfway, added only some cards, and needed three or four reruns. Public write-ups treated that as Amex tightening the backend.

What it looks like now

In August 2026, Cardpointers runs also stopped mid-add or came back incomplete.

Treat multi-card add as finished, not as a flaky day. This page does not guess at a new hole.

Other issuers

Chase and Citi merchant offers can still go on more than one card in many cases. Auto-add apps still save time there. Sweep, then search a merchant in the app.

How to use Amex Offers now

  1. Assume one offer, one card.
  2. If you still use an auto-add tool, pick the card first. If you want it on a Delta cobrand, add it there by hand. Do not let the tool pin it at random.
  3. Tools are still fine for finding offers. Do not assume the same offer will stack on every Amex you hold.

Carddoger take

One offer per card is not new. The workaround is what died. Extra tabs and auto-add apps, as of August 2026 public notes, no longer look like a plan. If you hold several Amex cards, pick one for that merchant offer.

Choose the card, then add. If Chase or Citi still allow multi-card adds, keep using a sweeper there.

The live Amex app or Offers page is the rule. This is public information, not spend or apply advice.
