What happened
The Chase World of Hyatt personal card is showing an elevated welcome bonus. Public notes say that tier ends about 7 p.m. Eastern on 20 August 2026. The window is already short if you want it.

How the welcome adds up
The elevated split, subject to the apply page, is roughly this.
| Piece | Condition | Points | |------|------|------| | Main bonus | About $5,000 spend in about 3 months after approval | About 45,000 World of Hyatt points | | Extra 1x | Extra 1 point per dollar on up to about $15,000 in about 6 months | About 15,000 at the cap | | Base 1x | The card's ordinary 1x on that same spend | About 15,000 on $15k |
Ads often say up to about 75,000 bonus points. Split it and 75k is usually 45k main + 15k extra 1x + 15k base 1x. If you only count what is extra versus a normal day, a full $15k is about 60k (45k+15k). That is the up to 60k bonus line in the title.
Rough math, ignoring everyday 2x and 4x on top of the base 1x
- About $5k only. About 45k main plus about 5k extra 1x is about 50k on the bonus side, plus about 5k base 1x, about 55k total.
- Spend the full about $15k. About 75k total points, and you may also hit the card's calendar-year $15k Cat 1-4 free night. The welcome window and the calendar year can overlap. Trust the terms.
If you only want Hyatt points and do not care about that free night, the extra about $10k of spend buys about 20k points including base 1x. Run that yourself. If you were going to chase the $15k free night anyway, try to finish it inside the first 6 months so the extra 1x still applies.
Annual fee and everyday earn
- Annual fee about $95
- No foreign transaction fee
- About 4x at Hyatt and Mr & Mrs Smith and similar
- About 2x at dining and coffee, airlines, local transit, gym memberships
- Everything else about 1x
Other common perks
| Item | Public read | |------|------| | Status | Discoverist | | Elite nights | About 5 elite qualifying nights a year, plus 2 more per about $5k spend (rolling) | | Anniversary free night | 1 Cat 1-4 free night each year after you renew | | Spend free night | Another Cat 1-4 free night after about $15k calendar-year spend | | Other | Some windows include an Instacart+ trial and a $10 monthly Instacart credit. Before you apply
- Chase 5/24 still matters. Too many cards in the last 24 months usually fail.
- This card's welcome usually has a 24-month rule. Prior holders who already took the bonus should check whether they still qualify.
- If the only goal is Hyatt points, also compare Ultimate Rewards transfer from cards such as Chase Sapphire Reserve. Transfer rates move. Some cards are no longer 1-to-1.
- Older elevated offers sometimes bundled several Cat 1-4 free nights. Those are gone. Do not treat them as live.
Carddoger take
This is a time-limited elevated welcome on the Hyatt personal cobrand. Before you apply, line up the about 20 August cutoff, the 45k after about $5k in 3 months, and the extra 1x through about $15k in 6 months. Up to 75k often includes the base 1x.
It fits people who already stay in World of Hyatt and want Discoverist plus free nights. If you only want a pile of points, put the spend bars next to a UR-to-Hyatt path. The apply page is the number. When it expires, it expires.
The Chase apply page and Rates & Fees win. This is public information, not apply advice.
