U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve points can now move to airlines and Accor

Altitude Reserve has opened point transfers. Flying Blue, Qantas, and Ethiopian Sheba Rewards are 1:1. Accor ALL is 2:1. The path is Rewards Center into a brand

What happened

U.S. Bank has turned on the long-promised transfer feature for Altitude Reserve. From about August 2026, the transfer tile is showing on Reserve accounts.

The bank said in mid-2025 it would launch airline transfers around December 2025. After that date, copy kept saying the feature was coming. Some people treated it as parked. Altitude Reserve itself has been closed to new applicants since about November 2024.

Launch set is those four. Three airlines cover the three alliances, one each. Hotel side is Accor only so far. Names and ratios can change. Use the live Rewards list.

Who can transfer, and where

  • Public feedback puts the tile mainly on Altitude Reserve. Other cards that earn Altitude points may not have it yet.
  • Common path. Log into U.S. Bank → pick Altitude Reserve → Rewards → Rewards Center.
Open Rewards Center
  • In Rewards Center, look for copy like 'Rewards your way with loyalty rewards transfer.'
Rewards transfer entry
  • That jump goes to a U.S. Bank-branded Points.com page. Link the loyalty account, then send.

Transfer screen
  • Some Flying Blue sends posted immediately. Official rules also talk about next business day for many, up to about 72 hours. Use the Rewards rules and the confirm screen.
  • Points usually leave the U.S. Bank balance at once and cannot be pulled back. Names on both accounts need to match.

After the 2025 cuts

Late 2025, Altitude Reserve trimmed mobile-wallet 3x earning and travel redemption value (including Real-Time Rewards moving from about 1.5¢ toward about 1¢ on some copy). Details sit on the card page and notices. Transfers give remaining holders a way to send points into airline miles or Accor rooms instead of cash-like redemptions only.

Ethiopian is an uncommon North America transfer partner and can matter on some fifth-freedom routes. Award value still depends on space, taxes, and the route. Run the ticket, do not assume a cents-per-point number.

Carddoger take

This is the first real airline and hotel transfer rail in the Altitude family. Four partners. Mostly for people who still hold Reserve.

  1. One 1:1 airline in each alliance is a lot better than no transfers. Depth is still far thinner than Chase, Amex, or Citi.
  2. Accor at 2:1 can work for hotel redemptions. Count the 2-for-1 before you send.
  3. The card is closed to new applicants. This news is not an open apply window.
  4. Before a transfer, price the same points in the travel portal versus an airline ticket. Confirm the live partner ratio.
