Targeted Venmo debit offer. Spend $25, get $25 back through 31 Aug 2026, about 8,000 awards
Venmo mailed some existing debit cardholders Want $25 back? You've got it. During the window, $25 in qualifying Venmo debit spend can return $25. Public cutoff
What happened
Venmo sent some users mail titled Want $25 back? You've got it. If you already hold a Venmo debit card, $25 in qualifying spend on that card during the window can put $25 cash back on the account. Public cutoff is 31 August 2026. The pool is about 8,000 awards.
The same mail also pushes Venmo Stash, a separate ongoing cash-back product with its own caps.

How the $25 posts
The mail footnotes (How to earn the reward) want all of these.
- You are an eligible participant.
- Existing US Venmo account - Resident of the 50 states or DC - 18 or older - Hold a Venmo Debit Mastercard (issued by The Bancorp Bank, N.A.) during the window - Received the Venmo invite mail, or see the invite banner in the app (Venmo decides who is in)
- Qualifying spend in the promo window.
- At least $25 in qualifying purchases on that Venmo debit card - The footnote talks about at least one purchase valued at $25. Confirm in your own mail whether one $25 charge is required or whether smaller charges can add up.
- Wait for the credit.
- $25 posts to the Venmo account tied to the debit card - Timing is within fourteen (14) days after the promo ends - One award per eligible account, max $25 - 8,000 awards for the whole promo, then it stops

Dates and inventory
- Promo clock is Pacific Time (PT).
- Starts 6 August 2026, 12:00:00 a.m. - Ends 31 August 2026, 11:59:59 p.m. - Or when 8,000 awards are paid, whichever comes first
- Footer copy also says the offer ends 31 August 2026, max 8,000 redemptions
Inventory is limited. First qualifying spenders fill the pool. No invite mail or in-app banner, do not assume you are in.
What usually does not count
The terms exclude some eligible purchases. Common items below. Full list is the mail footnote.
- Charges still pending when the promo ends
- Wires, cash transfers, and MCC 4829
- ATM cash
- Gift cards
- MCC 6012 purchases at a financial-institution location (unless the terms say otherwise)
- MCC 6051 quasi-cash (traveler's checks, money orders, crypto, and similar)
- MCC 5947 souvenir and novelty shops
- In-store cash back / cash withdrawal
Merchants and acquirers assign MCCs. Venmo does not rewrite them. If a merchant looks borderline, do not park the key $25 there.

The card itself
The second half of the mail is everyday debit copy. Separate from this $25 promo.
- Spend Venmo balance, with the usual no-monthly-fee product-page story
- Venmo Stash can pay ongoing cash back at selected brands, marketed up to 5% if auto-reload, direct deposit, and other tier rules are met
- Stash also has a monthly cash-back cap (the mail cites up to $100 a month; Stash terms win)

Checklist
- Confirm the invite mail or the in-app banner.
- Confirm the debit card is live.
- Before 31 August 2026 PT, put at least $25 of qualifying spend on that card. Skip ATM, gift cards, remittances, and quasi-cash.
- Keep the receipt. Watch Venmo for the $25 within two weeks after the promo ends.
- Want Stash later, turn it on in the app and pick a brand pack.
This is targeted. An account with no invite that spends $25 usually will not get this extra $25.
Carddoger take
Existing debit holder, targeted invite, spend $25 get $25. Low bar, three gates.
- Invite (mail or in-app banner).
- Qualifying spend before 31 August, and only about 8,000 awards in the pool.
- Stay off excluded MCCs and pending charges.
Fits people already using Venmo debit who got this mail. No card and no invite, do not manufacture spend for $25. Stash 5% is a different long-running rule.
Your Venmo mail, in-app terms, and the debit / Stash pages win. Public mail copy. Not a payout promise.
