What happened

US MVNO Tello Mobile (T-Mobile network) is running a site promo titled Free Roaming in Europe, with the line Use your Tello Plan just like at home. The page marks it Limited offer, valid until Sep 30, 2026.

Official hooks are no activation fees, no daily travel passes, and no surprise bills when you land. They also call it Summer Extra. For a Europe trip, keep using the Tello monthly plan you already have. Skip a local SIM or travel eSIM at the airport, and skip a separate Europe day-pass, if the current page still says so.

Tello Free Roaming in Europe

The page splits the mechanic into three points.

Your plan works in Europe. Data and talk minutes used while roaming debit the current Tello monthly plan, not a second roaming ledger.

No extra balance needed. You do not have to preload Pay As You Go (PAYG) credit just to stay online in Europe.

Seamless activation. Turn on International Roaming in the Tello account. In Europe the phone tries to attach on its own. The blog shortens that to one tap. The whole setup is that account toggle.

Three points. Plan buckets, no PAYG, International Roaming

Scope is data, talk, and text. All three pull from the monthly plan, not data only. The blog also lines up no add-ons, no local SIM, no PAYG credit, seamless activation, and runs on your domestic plan.

Example free-Europe destinations

The same promo also pushes the Tello Unlimited Plan and says that plan can roam under this offer. Copy includes about 50 GB of full-speed 5G domestic data (then slower), unlimited talk and text, free Wi-Fi Calling, no contract, and the ability to change plans. Those are plan features. They do not mean unlimited full-speed data on the Europe side. Europe still follows this roaming rule and the plan buckets. Checkout and the account win.

Tello Unlimited on the promo page

The promo page says valid until 30 Sep 2026. Public roaming notes have also said that from 1 October 2026, Europe roaming will no longer debit the monthly plan under this extra. 30 September is the stated end of this Summer Extra. After that, read the new terms. Do not assume an extension.

Tello is prepaid US service, often as eSIM, and plans can cancel monthly. It fits people who already need a US number and will be in Europe before the end of September, stacking US service and short Europe data/talk on one line. It does not replace a long-term local number, and it does not promise a signal in every basement.

Create the account from the invite (email and password), pick a monthly plan (this roaming extra needs an active monthly plan, not a parked unused number), pick eSIM or plastic, enter a US billing address and payment. After payment, follow mail or the dashboard to install eSIM or wait for plastic. If a card declines, try one that clears cross-border charges, with the name matching the card.
  1. Before you fly. Monthly plan still active. International Roaming on in Tello. Device data roaming on as the help center says. Destination on the official free-Europe list. A country missing from the list is not free under this extra.
  1. Plan size. Europe usage comes out of the monthly buckets. Minutes, texts, and GB are finite. After they run out, plan and help-center rules apply. Heavy trips can compare Unlimited on the promo page. Checkout terms still win.
