One Mile at a Time reports that American Airlines will change how it sells Admirals Club membership, and the price, from 23 Aug 2026. The same day, the Citi AAdvantage Executive card refresh lands. Cash club membership gets more expensive. Full guest-capable access leans toward the high cobrand.

Old cash fees, through 22 Aug 2026, sat roughly at $750 to $850 for a new individual, $700 to $800 to renew, and $1,500 to $1,650 for household. Higher elite status cost a bit less. Miles could buy individual membership in about the 70,000 to 85,000 range.

The report and reader comments also say single may be limited to the Admirals Club network itself. Partner lounges such as Alaska and Qantas need the official terms.

Single at $750 is a cheaper cash door if you never bring guests. It is not the same product as the old individual membership, which could bring guests.
On the Citi AAdvantage Executive card:
- Primary card still includes full Admirals Club membership with guests
- Card fee moves from $595 to $695 in a separate write-up, still well below $1,200 to $1,400 cash guest-capable membership
- Authorized users can enter and can still bring guests, but that is not a standalone full membership, per the report
OMAAT’s read is that one motive is to push people who will pay for lounge access toward the cobrand and AAdvantage, rather than grow the cash household base.

American made paid lounge access more expensive and more split. Guest-capable membership jumps into four figures. Member-only single sits near $750. The household package is gone. A few trips a year make cash membership a worse deal. People who already hold or plan Citi Executive get more relative value from the card’s club access.
