Citi AAdvantage Executive fee rises to $695 and adds Loyalty Points plus new credits

From 23 Aug 2026, Citi AAdvantage Executive moves the primary annual fee from $595 to $695 and adds benefits. Loyalty Point caps rise. New credits cover onboard

What happened

One Mile at a Time reports that the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard, American’s top consumer cobrand, will refresh from 23 Aug 2026. The primary annual fee rises $100. Several new benefits land. Admirals Club membership, bags, and 4x airline earn stay.

OMAAT also notes that American updates standalone Admirals Club prices the same day. People who care about bringing guests will feel more pressure on cash membership, so the card’s club access offsets more of that.

New or raised perks in the report:

  1. Loyalty Points. Annual extra LP cap rises from about 20,000 to about 40,000. Crossing 50,000 / 90,000 / 165,000 / 240,000 Loyalty Points in the member year each pays another 10,000 LP. From 23 Aug, even if you already passed a new gate that year, the report says extra tiers can still post under the new rule.
  1. Onboard and Admirals Club. Qualifying onboard food and drink plus Admirals Club spend on this card, up to $100 statement credit a year.
  1. American Airlines Vacations. Up to $500 a year, $250 each half year, on qualifying vacation bookings for two or more travelers.
  1. Lyft. Annual cap from about $120 to $180. $15 a month after 3 qualifying rides that month. Same cadence, higher cap.
  1. Hotels and cars.

  • About 1 Loyalty Point per $1 spend, toward AAdvantage status
  • Primary-card Admirals Club membership with guests. Authorized users usually enter for themselves, not as full members
  • 4x miles on American tickets. After $150,000 calendar spend, qualifying American spend can reach 5x
  • Up to $120 Global Entry / TSA PreCheck application fee credit every four years
  • First checked bag free for the primary cardmember plus up to 8 people on the same PNR on American domestic flights
  • Priority boarding, check-in, and security (primary plus up to 8 on the same PNR)
  • Up to $120 a year back on qualifying prepaid Avis / Budget rentals
  • Trip cancel / interrupt, delay, bag, and rental coverage, per the terms

Perk day and the first $695 fee day can differ. Whether to apply before 23 Aug to sit in an older fee window depends on your anniversary and the welcome offer then.

Carddoger take

This is a high airline cobrand raising the fee $100 and packing on LP, onboard and club credit, Vacations, Lyft, Omni, and Avis. Heavy American spenders who use the card for LP and Admirals Club get a wider stack. People who only use the lounge and barely spend should rerun the math.

New perks move together on 23 Aug. The new fee lands on anniversary dates. Do not assume the $695 posts the day the refresh starts.

Vacations, Lyft, and onboard or club credits have rules and caps. Do not value them at a theoretical max.
