Ready card stopped working as the old issuer wound down

What happened

Ready mailed users that it had already flagged a move to a new issuer earlier in the month. The current issuer is winding down, and the card stopped working that day. Ready says the issuer's shutdown timing was not fully flagged in advance, and apologizes if checkout declined.

Ready repeats the self-custodial pitch. Assets do not sit with infrastructure partners. They stay in the user's wallet. The notice's sense is that rails can change and access to your funds should not vanish with them.

For people who used the Ready card as daily spend, the temporary line is

  • Use another way to pay. The card does not work for now
  • To move funds, send them to Ready X (self-custodial wallet on Starknet) or use Cash Transfer in supported regions
  • Eligible card subscription fees will auto-refund. Details follow Ready's refund note

Ready also says it is already switching issuers, will post more, and thanks people for waiting.

This is from an English Ready team notice screenshot. Issuer name, a restore calendar, and a refund roster are not listed in that mail. Later app and email notes win.

Carddoger take

Old issuer left early. New rails are not live. The card stops. The wallet stays.

  1. Card. Do not use it for daily spend. Declines are expected
  2. Funds. Ready says they are in the self-custodial wallet, not at the issuer. Still check the app balance and the chain or wallet view yourself
  3. Move. The notice names Ready X (Starknet) and Cash Transfer by region
  4. Subscription. Eligible card subs auto-refund. Watch the credit and the refund fine print
  5. Next. New issuer in progress. Restore date and new card shape are not locked in this mail

If you hold a Ready card, pay with something else. Move funds with Ready X / Cash Transfer in the app if you need out. Watch official mail and app push for the new issuer.

Ready announcements, the live app, and refund records win. This is a public notice write-up, not a funds or invest plan.
