What happened
Cross-border app Eversend emailed users that its Naira Virtual Account has been updated.
Official copy says old Naira virtual accounts will be phased out and automatically replaced in the Eversend app with a new Naira Virtual Account. You do not apply for a new VA. You do have to read the new details and use them for inbound NGN.
What changes
- Account number and bank details change
- To keep receiving NGN, switch to the new Naira Virtual Account after the swap
- Old details die. The notice says old Naira virtual account details are no longer valid after 31 July
- Pays to the old account may not process
What Eversend asks
- Open the Eversend app and read the new Naira Virtual Account
- Give the new account to anyone or any platform that pays you
- Everywhere you saved or shared the old account (profiles, merchant dashboards, standing orders, family notes), switch to the new one after the update
Questions go to Eversend support by DM or support@eversend.co.
This is from an Eversend team email. Batch timing and in-app copy follow your account and official replies.
Carddoger take
Local virtual accounts get new numbers when the bank rail changes. The old receive string dies. The app issues a new one.
- Screenshot or copy the full new set (name, number, bank, whatever the app shows) and keep a backup
- Before 31 July, move every standing NGN receive onto the new number so money is not sent into a dead VA
- If a payment is already in flight, tell the sender. Whether the old number still has a grace window follows Eversend and the bank, not this page
If you collect NGN on Eversend for FX, transfers, or living costs, do not treat the old number as safe through the last hour of the 31st. The notice says details fail after 31 July, and old-account credits may fail.
The Eversend app and official support win. This is a user-notice write-up, not a funds guarantee.
