Airline chauffeur to the airport, cabins, booking windows, and common traps
Some first and business tickets still include airport chauffeur. This guide ranks carriers from wider coverage to narrower ones, with booking windows and usual
What this is
On some first and business tickets, ground service starts at the door. The airline includes a chauffeur or limousine. A driver picks you up for the airport, or drops you at an address after landing.
These products have been shrinking and tightening. This guide helps you
- Split door-to-door chauffeur from a tarmac transfer
- Rank carriers that still offer it, by coverage
- Run one checklist before you fly, so an award ticket does not surprise you at the curb

Before you start
Two kinds of pickup
| Type | What it is | Typical use | |------|--------|----------| | Door-to-door chauffeur | City address to terminal | Home or hotel to airport | | Tarmac / shuttle | Lounge to aircraft, or between stands | First class tarmac car to the door |
This guide only covers door-to-door. A tarmac car does not solve the city-to-airport segment.
The airline list below is a snapshot of public product pages and common rules. Use it to set expectations. The airline site and what your PNR shows win.
Steps
Airlines that still offer it often (rough coverage order)
#### 1. Emirates. One of the widest maps
- Cabin. First and business are common. Basic business fares, tickets upgraded from economy, and some awards often do not include it.
- Range. Many destinations can get outbound and return, still limited by city and distance.
- Operating. Usually Emirates must sell and fly the sector.
- Book. Often 12 hours before departure in Manage booking.
- Distance. Tens of miles is a common city cap. Inside the UAE it can be looser.

#### 2. Etihad. Hub first, top cabins can go global
- Main scene. In and out of Abu Dhabi.
- Cabin. First and business. Business often needs Comfort or Deluxe (higher branded fares).
- Exception. The Residence or first Deluxe can sometimes use chauffeur worldwide.
- Awards. Must sit in an eligible fare bundle. Partner awards often fail.
- Book. Often 12 hours before in Manage booking. Coverage inside the UAE is usually wider.

#### 4. Turkish Airlines. North America outstations, narrow rules
- Note. This is not Istanbul hub on any flight. It is more often specific US and Canada outstations, and often only on flights to or from a set of Middle East, South Asia, and Africa cities.
- Cabin. Cash business (booking classes such as C, D, J, K, Z). Awards and upgrades are often out.
- Operating. Turkish must sell and fly.
- Book. Often 24 hours before. Distance about 35 miles.
Official booking. Exclusive Drive

- Airports. Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Xi'an, and others on the live list.
- Routes. Often Europe, Americas, Africa, or Oceania.
- Fare. Named first and business classes (public descriptions such as F, A, J, C, D, Z, R). Awards often fail.

Five-minute check before you fly
Tick in order
- Ticket. Cash or award? Any basic business, light, or basic wording?
- How you got the cabin. Bought first or business, or upgraded from economy?
- Operating carrier. The airline flies it, or a codeshare on someone else?
- City and direction. Hub only? Outstation only? Outbound and return both covered?
- Window. Have you already missed the booking cutoff?
- Address and distance. Pickup inside the radius? Bags within the rule?
- Confirmation. Mail or app shows driver and plate? Check again before you leave.
How to book
#### Step 1. Find the benefit in the PNR
Open the airline app or site, Manage booking. Look for ground service, Chauffeur, or Limousine. No entry usually means it is not on the ticket. Do not wait at the curb hoping.
#### Step 2. Match fare and cabin rules
Open the official page for that airline. Check whether your booking class or branded fare is listed. If you are unsure, call with the PNR and ask, "Does my ticket include chauffeur service?"
#### Step 3. Submit the address inside the window
Enter pickup address, flight number, party size, and child seat if needed. Late submissions often close with no appeal.
#### Step 4. Recheck 24 hours before departure
A schedule change can cancel the car. After a change of ticket, book again.
#### Step 5. Have a backup at the curb
If the driver is late, use the app or SMS to reach dispatch, and keep a taxi or rideshare plan so you still make the flight.
Carddoger take
Free airport chauffeur is a first and business extra, not a default. A few Middle East carriers still cover more of the map. Europe and Asia carriers more often shrink to hub plus first or a named fare.
Three lines
- Fare and operating carrier first, chauffeur second
- Award tickets and upgrades. Start pessimistic
- The live site and PNR before departure win. This page is a map for checking
Airline terms, support confirmation, and the booking system win. This is a public product-page note, not ticket or itinerary advice.
